**ANKARA, January 13, 2025** – Turkish authorities announced the capture of a key suspect in the 2013 Reyhanli bombings, a double car bombing near the Syrian border that killed 53 people. Muhammed Dib Korali, allegedly responsible for planning the attack and supplying the explosives, was apprehended in a cross-border operation conducted by Turkey’s National Intelligence Agency (MIT) inside Syria. A Turkish security source confirmed the operation and stated that Korali has been handed over to Hatay police. This follows a similar MIT operation in 2018 that resulted in the capture of Yusuf Nazik, another Turkish national convicted in connection with the bombings. Turkey had previously blamed the Assad regime for the attacks, a claim Damascus denied.
