HOUSTON, TX – (January 9, 2025) – Beloved actors Morris Chestnut and Harold Perrineau, stars of the iconic film *The Best Man*, made a stop in Houston this week to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary and launch their new bourbon, Sable Whiskey. The duo visited Total Wine and More in the Heights, where they spoke with KPRC 2.
Chestnut and Perrineau, who co-founded Sable Bourbon, revealed the inspiration behind their new venture. Perrineau shared that the idea stemmed from the many scenes in *The Best Man* featuring the cast enjoying brown liquor. After extensive blind tastings, they selected their signature bourbon. Chestnut added that the collaborative process, with everyone agreeing on the same favorite, was a highlight. Perrineau even shared a recipe for a delicious bourbon sour cocktail.
When asked about their Houston visit, Chestnut expressed his excitement to celebrate the film’s anniversary and enjoy some local cuisine, citing Pappadeaux as a must-try. Perrineau, a first-time visitor, was keen to sample the city’s famed barbecue, with KPRC suggesting Frenchy’s as a prime option.
