**Rajkot, Gujarat:** Rajkot witnessed a spectacular International Kite Festival, a joint initiative of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation and the Gujarat Tourism Department. The sky above the city was ablaze with color as participants from across the globe showcased their unique kite-flying skills.
The festival featured a wide array of kites, from traditional designs to innovative creations. Highlights included a massive 25-meter-long, 18-meter-wide dragon kite from Mexico, and a 15-kilogram rainbow spinner from a 19-year-old kite enthusiast from Hyderabad. Many kites carried messages, promoting social causes such as “Save Earth,” “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child), and “I Love Rajkot.”
The event also included cultural performances, with young women enthusiastically participating in Garba dances. International kite flyers added to the festive atmosphere by displaying kites depicting traditional Rajasthani art and culture. The festival was a resounding success, attracting large crowds and celebrating the art of kite flying on a grand scale.
