Sun Jan 12 15:00:41 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka Minister Offers to Head Congress Committee
**Mangaluru, January 12, 2025** – Karnataka Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna announced his willingness to lead the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), even offering to resign from his ministerial post to do so. Speaking to reporters in Udupi, Rajanna clarified that he hasn’t formally applied for the position but is open to the offer. He emphasized his desire to strengthen the party from the grassroots level.
Rajanna’s statement comes ahead of a crucial Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting scheduled for Monday. This meeting holds significance amidst ongoing speculation regarding the Chief Minister’s tenure and potential changes in KPCC leadership. While acknowledging the existence of factional politics within the Congress, and indeed within all parties, Rajanna downplayed the issue, stating it was a natural occurrence in a democratic party. He also dismissed having any knowledge of potential changes in the Chief Minister’s position or any power-sharing agreements, leaving these decisions to the high command.
Responding to questions about a recent statement from Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Rajanna stated that he respected Shivakumar’s views, while simultaneously reminding everyone that a stable government requires the support of 113 MLAs. Rajanna’s vision for party building includes engaging with grassroots workers and all communities to bolster support for upcoming elections, including the Lok Sabha elections.
