Sun Jan 12 16:31:44 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Businessman and Family Accused of Cheating BDA
**Bengaluru, January 13, 2025** – The Seshadripuram police have filed a case against a Bengaluru businessman and four family members for allegedly defrauding the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) by obtaining five sites using forged documents. The scam, which took place between July 2001 and March 2003, was uncovered following a tip-off that prompted a BDA vigilance investigation.
The investigation revealed that Anil Kumar Agarwal, along with his family members Sonu, Ram Prathap, Santhosha Devi, and Snehalatha Agarwal, created fraudulent documents to secure the sites in Anjanapura and Banashankari. This violated BDA rules limiting one site allocation per family.
The probe also uncovered alleged collusion and negligence by BDA officials who failed to properly verify the documents before allotting the sites. The complaint alleges that the accused not only cheated the BDA but also deprived deserving applicants.
The accused have been summoned for questioning, and the BDA is working to reclaim the illegally obtained sites.
