Sun Jan 12 01:40:00 UTC 2025: **Steelers’ Pickens Fined Again for Unsportsmanlike Conduct**

PITTSBURGH, PA – Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens has been fined $10,231 for removing his helmet during the team’s Week 17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The penalty, for unsportsmanlike conduct, came after Pickens was flagged for a false start on a crucial fourth down. While he avoided a penalty on the field for removing his helmet, the NFL later reviewed the play and issued the fine.

Pickens’ latest infraction adds to a hefty total of fines accumulated throughout the season, reportedly exceeding $200,000. Previous incidents include a physical altercation with a Dallas Cowboys player and using profanity in his eye black.

Despite his on-field disciplinary issues, Pickens remains a vital part of the Steelers’ offense, recording 58 receptions for 900 yards and three touchdowns in the season before Week 18. The Chiefs’ Jaden Hicks was also fined $5,151 for taunting Pickens after the play. Kansas City’s Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy each received $14,069 fines for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The Steelers, while acknowledging Pickens’ repeated behavioral issues, are likely to tolerate his actions given his significant offensive contributions.
