Sun Jan 12 09:13:54 UTC 2025: ## Game Changer Stumbles: Box Office Collections Plummet on Day 2

**HYDERABAD, INDIA –** The highly anticipated Telugu film *Game Changer*, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, experienced a dramatic drop in box office earnings on its second day of release. While the S. Shankar-directed film raked in a reported ₹51 crore (approximately $6.2 million USD) on its opening day, collections plummeted by 57.84% on Saturday, reaching only ₹21.5 crore (approximately $2.6 million USD). This brings the total India gross to ₹72.5 crore (approximately $8.8 million USD).

The significant dip follows claims by producers of a ₹186 crore (approximately $22.6 million USD) worldwide Day 1 gross, a figure met with skepticism by some industry analysts. The Telugu version performed best, earning ₹53.95 crore, but even this showing represents a steep decline from the opening day. Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions contributed significantly less to the overall total.

Occupancy rates also reflect the downturn, with the Telugu version registering 31.19% on Saturday and the Hindi version at 21.82%. The film’s substantial budget and star power have failed to translate into sustained box office success, raising questions about its ultimate performance. The disappointing figures follow the release of another blockbuster, *Pushpa 2: The Rule*, which may have impacted *Game Changer*’s reception. Despite the setback, the film’s large scale and star cast continue to generate some attention.

The news of *Game Changer*’s box office struggles comes amidst wider economic uncertainty. Foreign investors have withdrawn a substantial ₹22,194 crore from Indian equities this month, citing concerns about weak earnings, a strong US dollar, and potential trade tensions.
