Fri Jan 10 02:13:00 UTC 2025: ## BRS Leader K.T. Rama Rao Grilled for Seven Hours in Formula E Case

**Hyderabad, January 10, 2025** – K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Telangana IT Minister, underwent a seven-hour interrogation by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday. The questioning focused on alleged ₹54.88 crore in financial irregularities related to the Formula E race deal.

The ACB’s investigation centers on accusations of criminal misconduct and misappropriation of funds, specifically concerning procedural violations and the transfer of funds. KTR was questioned about discrepancies in two agreements and his role in the alleged irregularities. A senior ACB official stated the investigation is in its early stages and KTR may be summoned again.

KTR, who arrived at the ACB headquarters around 9:30 a.m., maintained his innocence, claiming the questioning revolved around the same four or five questions raised by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He asserted that there was no corruption as funds were credited to the beneficiary account. He affirmed his willingness to cooperate with further investigations.

The ACB also summoned the former Chief Engineer of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), B.L.N. Reddy, for questioning on Friday. Heavy security measures were in place around the ACB office during KTR’s interrogation.

The case stems from a complaint filed by Principal Secretary M. Dana Kishore three weeks ago, alleging irregularities in payments made to Formula-E Operations Limited (FEO) and associated entities, including a ₹45.7 crore remittance despite FEO terminating its agreement with the Telangana government. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also investigating the financial irregularities. The ACB’s investigation focuses on alleged violations of established financial procedures, while the ED probes the flow of funds.
