Thu Jan 09 16:54:31 UTC 2025: **Ejipura Flyover Project Faces Further Delays; Completion Pushed to December 2025**

Bengaluru, January 9, 2025 – The long-awaited Ejipura flyover in Bengaluru continues to face significant delays, with the completion date now pushed back to December 2025. The 2.5-kilometer flyover, connecting Kendriya Sadan in Koramangala to Ejipura, has been plagued by setbacks for several years.

BSCPL Infrastructure Ltd., the current contractor, has failed to meet previous deadlines despite receiving ₹20 crore from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The company has reportedly completed less than 10% of the project, which has a revised cost of ₹275 crore.

The BBMP had previously considered terminating the contract due to the lack of progress, and even wrote to the state government requesting permission to do so. However, the government instructed the BBMP to continue working with BSCPL, citing concerns that a new tender process would further delay the project. The contractor has been given a final warning to complete the work by the new deadline.

The project’s history is marked by repeated delays and contractor changes. The initial contractor, Simplex Infrastructure Ltd., had its contract terminated in 2017 due to financial difficulties. A subsequent tender in 2022 received no bids. This is the third attempt to complete the flyover, with only about 50% of the work completed in the last seven years.
