Thu Jan 09 23:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Arraignment Delayed in Woodland Hills Doctor’s Murder-for-Hire Case
**Los Angeles, CA** – The arraignment for three suspects charged in the murder-for-hire of Woodland Hills doctor Hamid Mirshojae has been delayed until Wednesday. Mirshojae’s ex-wife, Ahang Mirshojae (53), Evan Hardman (41), and Sarallah Jawed (26), were scheduled to be arraigned Monday but the hearing was postponed by Superior Court Judge Susan De Witt. All three remain jailed without bail.
Authorities allege that Ahang Mirshojae hired Hardman to kill her ex-husband for unspecified financial reasons. The August 23rd shooting occurred outside Dr. Mirshojae’s clinic on Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Hardman is accused of carrying out the murder, with Jawed allegedly driving him out of state after the crime. Both are also charged with assaulting Dr. Mirshojae with a baseball bat in May.
The charges against the three include murder with special circumstances of lying in wait and murder for financial gain. Hardman faces additional charges related to prior robbery convictions. A fourth suspect, Ashley Rose Sweeting (40), is charged with being an accessory after the fact and remains jailed on $1 million bail. Her next court appearance is February 5th.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has not yet indicated whether it will seek the death penalty. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles Police Department and City News Service.
