**Thrissur, January 9, 2025:** Veteran Malayalam playback singer P. Jayachandran passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday night. He collapsed at his home in Poonkunnathu and was rushed to Amala Hospital in Thrissur, where he succumbed to his illness at 7:54 PM.
Jayachandran had been battling cancer for several years and had been undergoing treatment at Amala Hospital. He was discharged from the hospital only yesterday after a nine-day stay.
The body will be brought to his ancestral home, Mannath House, in Poonkunnath, Chakkamukku, Thottekatt line, on Friday morning at 9:30 AM. Public viewing will be held at the Sangitha Academy Hall (Regional Theater) from 12 PM onwards. Further public viewing will take place at his Paliyam ancestral home in Chendamangalam on Saturday from 9 AM, followed by the funeral at the Paliyam family crematorium at 3 PM.
