Wed Jan 08 18:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Hero MotoCorp’s Xtreme 250R: A Streetfighter Set to Challenge KTM and Husqvarna
**New Delhi, India** – Hero MotoCorp is poised to kick off 2025 with the launch of its highly anticipated Xtreme 250R, as evidenced by recent sightings of the motorcycle during a television commercial shoot in Delhi. This marks the debut of Hero’s new 250cc platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Karizma XMR 250.
Sporting an aggressive streetfighter aesthetic, the Xtreme 250R boasts an angular LED headlight with DRLs and a muscular fuel tank. Its sharply designed bodywork features a unique dual-tone red and white color scheme (though other options are likely). The bike utilizes a steel trellis frame, 43mm USD forks, a preload-adjustable monoshock, and 17-inch wheels with wide tires. Braking is handled by disc brakes with switchable ABS.
Power comes from a newly developed 250cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine producing 30bhp at 9,250rpm and 25Nm at 7,250rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. Hero claims a 0-60kmph time of 3.25 seconds. Features include LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a lap timer.
Expected to be priced between ₹2 lakh and ₹2.2 lakh (ex-showroom), the Xtreme 250R directly targets competitors like the KTM 250 Duke and Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. With its performance figures and stylish design, the Xtreme 250R promises to be a strong contender in the competitive 250cc segment. An official launch date is yet to be announced by Hero MotoCorp.
