Thu Jan 09 10:44:27 UTC 2025: ## Hindu Youths Kidnapped in Pakistan, Release Demanded for Outlaws

**Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan** – Three Hindu men were kidnapped in Pakistan’s Punjab province, prompting a chilling video message from their captors demanding the release of imprisoned accomplices. Police confirmed Thursday that Shaman, Shameer, and Sajan were abducted Wednesday near Bhong, in the Rahim Yar Khan district, approximately 400 kilometers southwest of Lahore.

Five armed dacoits, or bandits, seized the young men at gunpoint and took them to the Katcha area, a lawless riverine region. Ashiq Korai, the gang leader, released a video showing the chained hostages pleading for their lives. Korai directly threatened Ahmedpur Lama police station officer Rana Ramzan, demanding the release of ten family members or facing the consequences of the hostages’ deaths and further attacks on police.

The incident highlights the persistent challenges posed by powerful outlaw gangs operating in the Katcha area, spanning Punjab and Sindh provinces. Despite numerous police operations, the region remains largely uncontrolled. These gangs frequently target members of minority communities, such as Hindus, using kidnappings as leverage to secure the release of imprisoned gang members. The incident comes after a deadly 2022 attack on police in the same area, resulting in the deaths of 12 officers and injuries to seven others. Authorities are currently investigating the kidnapping and working to secure the safe release of the three Hindu youths.
