Wed Jan 08 09:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Honey Rose’s Sexual Harassment Complaint Leads to Swift Police Action Against Bobby Chemmannur
**Kochi, January 8, 2025:** The Ernakulam Central Police swiftly acted on actress Honey Rose’s sexual harassment complaint, taking steps to prevent the accused, Bobby Chemmannur, from seeking pre-arrest bail and going into hiding.
Honey Rose, after receiving assurances of support from the government and police following meetings with ADGP Manoj Abraham and Kochi City Police Commissioner P.P. Vimaladithya, filed a detailed complaint. Initially, she had alluded to a “businessman” on social media, sparking significant online abuse. The identity of the businessman was revealed to be Chemmannur, prompting a formal police complaint.
Police acted quickly, learning of Chemmannur’s potential departure to Karnataka. Within hours of the complaint, a police team was dispatched to Wayanad. The police have registered a case against 30 individuals, with one arrest already made. The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) also publicly supported Honey Rose.
Chemmannur’s refusal to change his stance despite warnings prompted Honey Rose to seek meetings with high-ranking police officials and even planned to contact the Chief Minister and DGP. The police’s swift action was driven by concerns that Chemmannur, facing non-bailable charges, might seek pre-arrest bail and subsequently evade arrest, potentially prolonging legal proceedings all the way to the Supreme Court. Chemmannur is expected to appear in Kochi today to seek pre-arrest bail.
