**JERUSALEM, January 6, 2025** – At least three Israelis were killed and six others wounded in a shooting attack on a bus in the occupied West Bank on Monday, according to Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service. The attack occurred in the Palestinian village of Al-Funduq, on a major east-west road.
The identities of the attacker and victims have not yet been released. The incident is the latest in a surge of violence in the West Bank following Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, which ignited the ongoing conflict.
The West Bank, captured by Israel in the 1967 Six-Day War, is a contested territory. Palestinians claim it as the core of their future state, while over 500,000 Israeli settlers reside in settlements considered illegal by much of the international community.
