**New Delhi, January 7, 2025** – Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), R. Alice Vaz, released the final electoral roll on Monday, revealing a total of 1.55 crore registered voters. This represents a net increase of 1.67 lakh (1.09%) voters since the draft roll was published on October 29, 2024.

The CEO’s office reported an “unprecedented” surge in new voter registrations over the past 20 days, with over 5.1 lakh applications received during this period. While 3,08,942 names were added since the draft publication, 1,41,613 were deleted, resulting in the net increase.

The unexpected rise in applications has prompted the CEO’s office to order a thorough review of all recent registrations by Electoral Registration Officers, in accordance with Election Commission of India guidelines. Delhi residents can still apply for voter registration until 10 days before the deadline for Assembly election nominations.
