Tue Jan 07 09:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Nvidia Unveils RTX 5000 Series Graphics Cards at CES, with Surprising Price Points

**Las Vegas, NV –** Nvidia shook up the graphics card market at CES 2025 with the announcement of four new RTX 5000 series cards: the RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070. While the top-of-the-line RTX 5090 commands a hefty $1999 price tag—$400 more than its RTX 4090 predecessor—the other three models offer significant price reductions. The RTX 5080 is $200 cheaper than the RTX 4080, the RTX 5070 Ti is $50 less than the RTX 4070 Ti, and the RTX 5070 boasts a $50 price cut.

These price points represent a strategic shift by Nvidia, potentially undercutting competitors AMD and Intel who have been focusing on the budget-conscious segments of the market. The lower pricing of the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti is particularly noteworthy.

Beyond pricing, the new cards also feature a redesigned, smaller form factor. The RTX 5090 Founders Edition, built on the new Blackwell architecture, is notably slimmer than its RTX 4090 counterpart, occupying only two slots instead of three. This suggests potential size reductions across the entire RTX 5000 series. This is a significant departure from previous rumors which suggested much larger price increases across the board.

Nvidia has yet to announce the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060, but these are expected to launch later this year, mirroring the staggered release of the RTX 4000 series. All four currently announced cards are available immediately. The impact of Nvidia’s pricing strategy on the competitive landscape remains to be seen, but it promises an exciting few months for PC gamers.
