Tue Jan 07 14:30:08 IST 2025: ## NVIDIA’s Cosmos Platform Supercharges Autonomous Vehicle Development

**Las Vegas, NV –** NVIDIA today announced Cosmos, a new platform designed to dramatically accelerate the development of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and robots. Building upon NVIDIA’s existing three-computer solution (NVIDIA DGX, OVX, and AGX), Cosmos introduces generative world foundation models (WFMs) and advanced AI tools to amplify training data.

The platform allows developers to convert thousands of miles of real-world driving data into billions of simulated miles, significantly boosting the quality and quantity of training data for AI models. This “data flywheel,” as NVIDIA describes it, leverages synthetic data generation to overcome the limitations and high costs of relying solely on real-world data collection.

According to NVIDIA executives, Cosmos accelerates the development process by orders of magnitude, making it faster, cheaper, and more efficient to build sophisticated AI for AVs and robotics. The platform’s WFMs are available under an open model license, promoting collaboration and wider adoption within the industry. Integration with NVIDIA’s Omniverse platform further enhances the simulation and training capabilities.

This announcement comes as NVIDIA showcases its latest advancements in AI and simulation technology at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The company highlights Cosmos as a key component in its broader strategy to build smarter, safer, and more efficient autonomous machines.
