**Lucknow, UP** – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday urged for large-scale celebrations commemorating the Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, highlighting the Guru’s historical significance and the need to preserve Sikh heritage. Speaking at DAV College during the celebrations, Adityanath lauded Guru Gobind Singh Ji as a towering figure in history, noting his lineage as the son of a martyred father and father of martyred sons.
The CM emphasized the importance of Lucknow in Sikh history, recalling Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj’s visit to the Yahiaganj Gurudwara with a young Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He stressed the responsibility of preserving this rich history for future generations. This year’s commemorations hold special significance, Adityanath noted, marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj. He advocated for celebrations on a scale similar to the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Adityanath recounted the story of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s encouragement of his father’s sacrifice, emphasizing the impending danger to nation and faith and the need for a leader to inspire resistance. He highlighted Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s establishment of the Khalsa Panth to combat casteism and untouchability and protect the nation’s faith.
The event included an interaction with children, where the CM distributed sweets. Several dignitaries, including Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and state ministers, attended the celebrations. Adityanath concluded by emphasizing the continuing inspiration provided by the legacy of the Sikh Gurus.
