Tue Jan 07 11:10:00 IST 2025: ## Telangana High Court Rejects KTR’s Plea to Dismiss Formula E Case
**Hyderabad, January 7, 2025** – The Telangana High Court today rejected the plea filed by K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former minister, to quash the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) case against him related to the Formula E race. The ruling has sparked intense reactions within Telangana’s political landscape.
Following the court’s decision, Harish Rao, a key BRS leader and former minister, spoke to the media outside KTR’s residence. He characterized the case as a politically motivated “diversion tactic” by the opposition Congress party, aimed at deflecting attention from their own alleged wrongdoings. He insisted that KTR’s efforts were solely focused on enhancing Hyderabad’s brand image and that no corruption occurred. Rao confirmed that KTR would cooperate fully with the ACB investigation and would appear again on January 9th.
However, the Congress party has strongly condemned the High Court’s decision. Congress MLC Balmuri Venkat alleged that KTR’s actions are mere theatrics and questioned his prior claims of being ready to face imprisonment. Former MP V.H. also commented that this case seems like money laundering.
The ACB investigation pertains to alleged irregularities in the organization of the Formula E race in Hyderabad. The High Court’s rejection of KTR’s plea means the investigation will proceed. The case continues to dominate political discourse in Telangana, with both ruling and opposition parties expressing strongly contrasting viewpoints.
