**CUDDALORE, Tamil Nadu –** A Sub-Inspector of Police and her husband were killed in a road accident on Sunday in Sithalapadi near Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu. The couple, identified as Ilavarasi, a Sub-Inspector at Kumaratchi police station, and her husband Kalaivendhan, 32, were riding a motorcycle when they were struck by a speeding Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus.
According to police, the accident occurred while the couple was traveling to Chidambaram for a function. The bus driver, V. Sabari Rajan, 24, has been arrested and charged with reckless driving. Both Ilavarasi and Kalaivendhan sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
