Mon Jan 06 10:54:48 UTC 2025: ## Journalist’s Killer Arrested After Gruesome Murder
**Hyderabad, India –** Suresh Chandrakar, the alleged mastermind behind the brutal murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, has been arrested by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Hyderabad. The arrest comes nearly a month after Mukesh Chandrakar’s body was discovered in a septic tank on Suresh Chandrakar’s property on January 3rd.
The post-mortem examination revealed the horrifying extent of the violence, with the 28-year-old journalist sustaining 15 head fractures, a broken neck, and his heart ripped out. Doctors described the injuries as unlike anything they had seen in their 12-year careers and suggested the involvement of multiple assailants.
Mukesh Chandrakar, a reporter for a local news channel, had recently investigated and exposed alleged corruption in a Rs 120-crore road construction project overseen by Suresh Chandrakar, a contractor. This exposé led to a state government inquiry into the contractor’s activities. His disappearance following a meeting arranged by Suresh Chandrakar’s brother, Ritesh, prompted a missing person’s report filed by his brother Yukesh.
Suresh Chandrakar, who had been on the run since the incident, is believed to have orchestrated the murder. Two other suspects, Dinesh Chandrakar and Ritesh Chandrakar (Suresh’s brothers), have already been arrested.
The Communist Party of India (Maoist) condemned the killing, praising Mukesh Chandrakar for his investigative journalism and demanding a thorough investigation. The arrest of Suresh Chandrakar marks a significant development in the case, though the investigation continues.
