**Hyderabad, January 5, 2025** – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress party will win the upcoming local body elections, citing the recently announced Rythu Bharosa (farmer support) scheme and financial aid for farm laborers as key factors. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Mr. Reddy urged his cabinet colleagues and party leaders to publicize these initiatives.

While some ministers reportedly expressed concern over the Rythu Bharosa assistance being set at ₹12,000 instead of the ₹15,000 promised during the Assembly elections, the Chief Minister remained optimistic. He emphasized that the combined financial aid for farmers and farm laborers, along with the issuance of new ration cards, would resonate positively with voters. He highlighted the increase from the previous government’s ₹10,000 Rythu Bandhu scheme and the fulfillment of a promise to support farm workers, a pledge not met by the previous BRS administration.

The Chief Minister identified these three initiatives as the Congress party’s “trump card” for the local body elections. Approximately 16 lakh farm workers are expected to benefit from the financial assistance, with the government providing aid to one member per family.
