**Bengaluru, January 5, 2025** – Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramachandrappa N.B., 58, was arrested and remanded in judicial custody until January 17th, following allegations of sexual assault. The victim, a 32-year-old woman, claims the assault occurred at the officer’s office after he had previously assisted her with a property dispute.
According to the complaint, the officer leveraged his position to exploit the woman’s vulnerability. He had initially offered to help her regain custody of her 12-year-old son from her estranged husband. He allegedly demanded sexual favors in exchange for his assistance, and subsequently assaulted her in a restroom. The incident was reportedly recorded on video, which later went viral, leading to the victim filing a police complaint. The case is currently under investigation.
