Vijayawada, January 5, 2025 – Andhra Pradesh’s Medical and Health Minister, Y. Satyakumar Yadav, has announced a state-wide initiative to distribute 90,000 spectacles to school children aged 5 to 15. The minister directed officials to expedite the distribution process at the constituency level and also implement free eye tests for villagers over 45. Further initiatives include awareness campaigns promoting eye donation and improved medical services in tribal areas, with a focus on preventing waterborne diseases and achieving cancer screening targets. These measures are part of the ongoing National Health Mission programs in the state.
