**Kozhikode, Kerala, January 6, 2025** – The Beypore International Water Festival concluded on Sunday, drawing thousands of spectators to witness a spectacular array of water sports and cultural events. The three-day festival featured angling competitions, a thrilling country boat race, surfing demonstrations, and captivating aerial displays.
Eighty participants competed in the angling contest, vying for the title based on their catch. Five expert surfers from the Aventure Surfing Club showcased their skills with impressive sea performances. The highlight of the festival was the country boat race, with nine teams competing fiercely in a 300-meter race along the Chaliyar River, cheered on by enthusiastic crowds. Additional attractions included a kite festival, food festival, drone show, flying board demonstrations, and paramotoring displays over the Chaliyar estuary.
The festival also had a heartwarming element: 55 differently-abled children from Buds Schools in Ramanattukara and Feroke were welcomed by Mayor Beena Philip, adding a special touch to the event. The children were particularly excited to see the ships docked at the port.
The festival culminated in an illuminated boat parade and a vibrant procession through Beypore town. The valedictory function featured actors Soubin Shahir, Basil Joseph, and Vineeth Sreenivasan as guests of honor. The Beypore International Water Festival was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and showcasing the vibrant culture and sporting spirit of Kozhikode.
