**Mysuru, January 4, 2025** – Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy addressed a Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) meeting in Mysuru on Saturday, urging party workers to strengthen their grassroots presence and launch a vigorous membership drive ahead of upcoming local elections. He expressed confidence in the party’s ability to regain its political footing, citing past electoral successes achieved through the dedication of its workers.

Kumaraswamy highlighted the JD(S)’s inclusive nature, emphasizing its origins within the farmer and worker communities and its capacity to unite various groups. He attributed the party’s resilience to the vision and struggle of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. The minister predicted a future state government formed in alliance with the BJP.

He criticized the Congress state government, particularly its recent bus fare hike, deeming it insensitive to the public. Former minister S.R. Mahesh echoed Kumaraswamy’s call for unity within the party.

Addressing the absence of party MLA G.T. Deve Gowda from recent party events, Kumaraswamy acknowledged the situation but downplayed any significant rift, suggesting a future meeting to resolve any outstanding issues. This is the first time Kumaraswamy has publicly addressed the matter, particularly G.T. Deve Gowda’s absence from the Channapatna by-poll campaign.
