Sat Jan 04 14:34:50 UTC 2025: ## AAP MLA Naresh Balyan’s Name Missing from MCOCA Chargesheet
**New Delhi, January 4, 2025** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Balyan, arrested in November 2024 under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), is not named in the first chargesheet filed in the case. The chargesheet, filed on December 26th, names Rithik Peter as the main accused and details his alleged involvement in an organized crime syndicate with links to Kapil Sangwan, a fugitive.
While Mr. Balyan remains in judicial custody, his connection to the case stems from an alleged phone conversation broadcast last year by a news channel, in which a discussion about ransom was reportedly heard between Mr. Balyan and Mr. Peter. Other accused, Ritik, Rohit, and Sachin Chikara, have also been apprehended.
The chargesheet, filed in the Rouse Avenue Court, will be considered by Special Judge Kaveri Baweja on January 9th. Mr. Balyan’s bail application will be heard on January 8th. The case has been transferred to the Rouse Avenue court following a Delhi High Court order.
