**Hyderabad, January 4, 2025** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate Hyderabad’s new fourth passenger railway terminal at Cherlapalli on January 6th, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy announced Friday. The ₹413 crore terminal, located on the city’s eastern side, is designed to alleviate congestion at existing terminals in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda by connecting to the Outer Ring Road and increasing capacity.

The state-of-the-art facility boasts spacious concourses, an illuminated facade, and two foot-over-bridges. It will accommodate 15 additional train pairs via four new high-level platforms, with existing platforms extended to handle longer trains. The terminal’s total capacity will be 19 lines, including 10 existing ones.

Minister Reddy highlighted the project’s completion despite challenges posed by the previous state government. He also noted significant central government investments in Telangana’s railway infrastructure, including ₹720 crore for Secunderabad station modernization and ₹350 crore for Nampally station improvements, totaling ₹5,336 crore allocated this fiscal year.
