**Mangaluru, January 5, 2025** – Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, Captain Brijesh Chowta, has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to bolster security and infrastructure in the region. During meetings in New Delhi this week, Capt. Chowta advocated for the establishment of a National Investigation Agency (NIA) office in Mangaluru to strengthen national security. He also requested improved banking and fisheries infrastructure, and enhanced road and rail connectivity between Mangaluru and Bengaluru to boost the region’s economy.

In his meeting with Minister Shah, Capt. Chowta presented a photograph of the traditional Tulunadu Kambala buffalo race. With Defence Minister Singh, the MP stressed the need for a Sainik School in Dakshina Kannada and a new military unit in the region, citing concerns over national and coastal security. He highlighted these facilities would honor local heroes like Commander George Martis, former Defence Minister George Fernandes, and Captain M.V. Pranjal. Capt. Chowta expressed confidence that these initiatives would significantly contribute to the region’s overall development.
