**Oxford, England –** A team of British researchers have announced the discovery of what is believed to be the largest dinosaur footprint site in the UK, unearthing nearly 200 tracks dating back 166 million years. The exciting find, featured in the upcoming BBC documentary “Digging for Britain,” was made at an Oxfordshire quarry after a worker noticed unusual bumps while working.
The site boasts five extensive trackways, with the longest stretching over 150 meters. Four are believed to have been made by a long-necked Cetiosaurus, while the fifth is attributed to a nine-meter-long Megalosaurus, identified by its distinctive three-toed footprints. Researchers from Oxford and Birmingham Universities spent a week excavating the area, utilizing drone photography and capturing over 20,000 photographs to create detailed 3D models.
