Fri Jan 03 02:00:00 UTC 2025: ## KIA Syros SUV Launch Imminent: Undercuts Seltos, Challenges Sonet

**New Delhi, [Date]** – KIA Motors is poised to launch its highly anticipated Syros SUV on February 1st, with bookings already underway. Positioned strategically between the Sonet and Seltos in KIA’s lineup, the Syros aims to capture a significant share of the compact SUV market.

While official pricing remains undisclosed, expectations point to a starting price under ₹10 lakh. This could put the Syros’s top-end models in direct competition with the top-spec Sonet, potentially offering more features for a comparable price. A booking amount of ₹25,000 is required.

The Syros will make its public debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Two engine options will be available: a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 BHP and 172 NM of torque, and a 1.5-liter diesel unit offering 116 HP and 250 NM of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT automatic (petrol), and a 6-speed torque converter automatic (diesel).

Feature highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-tone leatherette interiors, ambient lighting, and a dual 12-13 inch screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation. Top-spec models boast an 8-speaker sound system, ventilated front and rear seats, wireless charging, powered driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS technology.

**Should you wait for the Syros or buy the Sonet?** That depends on your budget and needs. If you’re considering the top-end Sonet GTX petrol Turbo DCT (priced at ₹17.05 lakh), the Syros might be a worthwhile upgrade, offering a newer vehicle with enhanced styling and potentially similar pricing for higher-spec models. However, if a base or mid-level Sonet suffices, waiting might not be beneficial, as the Syros will be positioned at a higher price point. Detailed variant-wise pricing is expected soon.
