**Thrissur, Kerala, January 3, 2025** – A 56-year-old man, Sajeven Mangadi, has been sentenced to 130 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹8,75,000 for the sexual assault of a 10-year-old boy. The Fast Track Special Court in Chavakkad delivered the verdict today. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional 35 months of imprisonment.

The assault occurred in April 2023. The victim disclosed the incident to his family several months later, prompting them to report the matter to the Chavakkad police station. A thorough investigation, led by various police officers including Sub-Inspector Cecil Christian Raj and Inspector Vivek K. Vengopal, resulted in a chargesheet being filed. The prosecution presented 16 documents and testimony from 13 witnesses during the trial.

Mangadi faces two additional POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) cases at the Chavakkad police station.
