**RENO, Nev. (AP)** — Ian Martinez erupted for 17 unanswered points in the final 6:10 of the game, propelling Utah State to a 69-64 victory over Nevada on Tuesday night. The Aggies improve to 13-1 overall and 3-0 in Mountain West Conference play, extending their winning streak to three games following a single loss to UC San Diego.
Martinez’s scoring spree began with a layup, giving Utah State a 54-46 lead. Although Nevada (8-6, 0-3) twice closed the gap to within two points, Martinez countered with a crucial three-pointer and two consecutive layups to seal the win. He finished the game as the Aggies’ leading scorer.
Tucker Anderson provided valuable bench support for Utah State with 16 points, while Mason Falslev contributed a well-rounded performance of 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals.
Nevada was led by Nick Davidson’s double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. Justin McBride added 11 points, and Xavier Dusell chipped in 10 off the bench. Despite a balanced first-half attack that saw Davidson score seven points, Nevada trailed 33-28 at halftime and ultimately fell short against Utah State’s late-game surge.
