**Puducherry, January 1, 2025** – R. Siva, Leader of the Opposition and DMK convenor in Puducherry, has strongly criticized the AINRC-BJP government for its policies, claiming they have pushed the population to the brink over the past three and a half years.
In a New Year’s statement, Mr. Siva alleged a lack of development projects, job scarcity, declining industry, and a shrinking rural economy under the current administration. He further criticized the impact of the National Education Policy on the territory’s education system. He linked these issues to the perceived erosion of state rights by the central NDA government.
Mr. Siva announced plans for a series of protests to challenge the government and pledged to promote a “Dravidian model” of governance in the upcoming 2026 elections.
