Tue Dec 31 19:03:10 UTC 2024: ## Tamil Nadu Launches Women’s Entrepreneurship Programs in Science and Technology
**Chennai, January 1, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) is launching a series of entrepreneurship development programs specifically designed for women, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST). The initiative aims to empower women graduates and diploma holders in science and technology.
Three distinct programs are being offered: a four-week Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme, a six-week Technology-based Entrepreneurship Development Programme, and a two-week Faculty Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
The Women’s program focuses on equipping participants with the necessary skills for business ownership. The Technology-based program will concentrate on sectors such as leather, plastics, electronics, biotechnology, IT, and food processing, utilizing indigenous technologies developed by research institutions. The Faculty program will train professionals to become resource persons in sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices, focusing on biofertilizers and biopesticides.
A total of 110 participants will benefit from the training, which will include hands-on experience, mentorship from industry experts, and insights into funding opportunities and business strategies from leading institutions. Experts from the MSME Development Institute, management institutes, business schools, and intellectual property offices will contribute to the program. Soft skills training will also be provided. S.
