**TIRUPATTUR, December 31, 2024** – A 33-year-old man, B. Murugan, was arrested in Tirupattur on Tuesday for possession of 5.5 kg of ganja. The arrest followed a routine patrol near Natrampalli town, where police intercepted Murugan after he gave conflicting answers to questions about his whereabouts. A search of his vehicle and subsequent search of his home revealed the ganja. The Tirupattur SP, Sherya Gupta, had ordered intensified patrolling and vehicle inspections in the area following a tip-off. Murugan has been remanded to sub-jail in Tirupattur, and an investigation is underway to determine the source and intended destination of the ganja.
