LUCKNOW, INDIA – A 24-year-old man, identified as Arshad, was arrested today for the murder of his mother and four sisters at a hotel in Lucknow, police said. The gruesome incident took place at Hotel Sharanjit in the Naka area.
The victims were identified as Asma (mother), Alia (9), Alshia (19), Aksa (16), and Rahmeen (18). Arshad, a native of Agra, confessed to the killings during preliminary questioning, citing family disputes as the motive.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Raveena Tyagi confirmed the arrest and stated that forensic teams are collecting evidence at the crime scene. Initial investigations indicate some victims sustained injuries to the neck and wrist. A detailed investigation is underway, including interviews with hotel staff. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime and Headquarters) Babloo Kumar assured the public that any further findings will be shared with the media. The post-mortem reports are pending.
