**KOCHI, January 1, 2025** – The Kerala High Court has ordered two event organizers to surrender to police by January 2nd in connection with the fall of MLA Uma Thomas at a dance event on Sunday. Nigoshkumar M. of Mridanga Vision and Janeesh P.S. of Oscar Event Management are accused of security lapses that led to Ms. Thomas’s serious injuries after she fell from a temporary gallery at the international stadium in Kochi.
The court rejected the organizers’ pre-arrest bail plea, stating it was not a suitable case for interim relief. Police have charged them under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including a non-bailable offense, citing the severity of the alleged acts and public interest. Failure to surrender by the deadline will result in their arrest.
