Wed Jan 01 10:10:12 UTC 2025: ## EaseMyTrip Appoints Rikant Pittie as New CEO Amidst Founder’s Departure and Flat Q2 Earnings
**MUMBAI, January 2, 2025** – Online travel agency EaseMyTrip announced a leadership change today, appointing Rikant Pittie as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. Pittie, a co-founder and former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director, brings nearly 15 years of experience in travel, tourism, HR, and technology to the role.
The appointment follows the resignation of Nishant Pitti, Rikant’s brother and previous CEO, who cited personal reasons for his departure. Reports suggest Nishant Pitti is planning to sell his remaining 14.21% stake in the company through a block deal, potentially netting him approximately Rs 780 crore.
EaseMyTrip’s Q2 FY25 financial results revealed flat growth, with revenue (less service cost) inching up to Rs 131 crore from Rs 130.7 crore the previous year. While revenue from operations under IFRS reached Rs 145 crore, profits declined by 42.6% to Rs 27 crore compared to Rs 47 crore in Q2 FY24. The company’s overall performance appears to be a contributing factor to the leadership change.
