**Salem, December 31, 2024** – The Chennai Central – Bodinayakkanur – Chennai Central Tri-weekly Express (Train Nos. 20601/20602) will make an experimental one-minute stop at Namakkal Railway Station starting January 1, 2025, the Salem Railway Division announced.

The railway board approved the halt. Train No. 20601 (Chennai Central to Bodinayakkanur) will stop at 3:54 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Train No. 20602 (Bodinayakkanur to Chennai Central) will stop at 1:34 a.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Mondays. The timings are effective from the trains’ departures on January 1st and 2nd respectively. The current schedule sees Train No. 20601 departing Chennai Central at 10:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, arriving in Bodinayakkanur at 9:35 a.m. the following day. Train No. 20602 departs Bodinayakkanur at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, reaching Chennai Central at 7:55 a.m. the next day. The experimental stop’s success will determine its continuation.
