Fri Dec 27 23:26:19 UTC 2024: ## Pushpa 2 Remains Box Office King, Outperforming New Releases

**Mumbai, India** – Allu Arjun’s *Pushpa: The Rule* continues its box office dominance, even after nearly a month in theaters. The film raked in an estimated ₹5.26 crore (approximately $640,000 USD) on its fourth Friday, more than double the earnings of the newly released *Baby John* on its opening day. Early estimates place *Pushpa 2’s* India gross at over ₹1125 crore (approximately $137 million USD).

While new releases *Baby John*, starring Varun Dhawan, and *Viduthalai 2*, featuring Vijay Sethupathi, failed to generate significant buzz, *Pushpa 2* maintained impressive occupancy rates. The Telugu version showed 19.86% occupancy across approximately 400 screens, while the Hindi version reached 12.42% occupancy with over 2800 screenings. The film also saw releases in Tamil and Malayalam.

*Baby John*, despite an initial strong opening, experienced a significant 57% drop on its second day and only managed ₹1.42 crore (approximately $173,000 USD) on Friday. *Viduthalai 2* also underperformed, earning a mere ₹58 lakh (approximately $70,000 USD) on its second Friday.

The makers of *Pushpa 2* claim the film has surpassed ₹1700 crore (approximately $207 million USD) globally, against a reported budget of ₹400 crore (approximately $49 million USD). The film’s continued success highlights its enduring appeal and the lack of significant competition in the current market.
