**Mumbai, December 28, 2024** – A significant fire engulfed several godowns storing scrap and plastic materials in Mumbai’s Kurla area on Saturday morning. Fire Brigade officials classified the blaze as a level 3 fire, impacting approximately 500,000 square feet of ground floor and partially a one-story structure within the Wajid Ali Compound in Sakinaka. The incident, reported around 6:00 AM, prompted a large-scale response. Ten small hose lines, eleven fire engines, nine jet tanks, and aerial work platforms were deployed to combat the flames. While the fire is contained to the scrap and plastic godowns, the extent of the damage is still being assessed.
