**CHENNAI, December 25, 2024** – A second-year engineering student at Anna University was allegedly sexually assaulted on campus Tuesday night, prompting a police investigation. According to police, the student and a friend were walking near a secluded area when two unidentified individuals assaulted the friend before sexually assaulting the complainant.
The survivor reported the incident to the Kotturpuram Assistant Commissioner of Police. A team of women police officers is currently taking her statement. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the university to identify the assailants. The Chennai City police have registered a case. The university is cooperating with the investigation.
