**Bengaluru, December 25, 2024** – The Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department will observe December 26th, the birth anniversary of Charles Babbage, as “Computer Data Entry Operators’ Day,” starting this year. The decision, approved by RDPR and IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge, recognizes the vital role data entry operators play in connecting government schemes with citizens at the panchayat level. Minister Kharge noted that these operators act as a crucial interface, ensuring the benefits of various government programs reach the intended recipients. The announcement follows a letter of appreciation from the Karnataka State Village Panchayat Clerks and Data Entry Operators’ Welfare Association president, Bheema Reddy Patil, thanking the minister for the initiative.
