Tue Dec 24 16:19:30 UTC 2024: ## Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Kills Two in Parked Caravan in Kerala
**Kozhikode, Kerala – December 25, 2024** – Two men were found dead inside a parked caravan in Vadakara, Kozhikode district, Kerala, on Monday night, due to carbon monoxide poisoning, police confirmed.
Manoj, 49, and Joel, 26, the driver and cleaner respectively, were employed by a Malappuram-based logistics company. They had parked the caravan at Karimpanapalam near Vadakara on Sunday after transporting a wedding party to Kannur. Local residents alerted authorities after noticing the caravan remained in the same location for two days.
According to Nidhin Raj P., District Police Chief (Kozhikode Rural), doctors noted the characteristic red coloration of the victims’ internal organs, a telltale sign of carbon monoxide poisoning. An investigation of the caravan revealed a generator inside, which police suspect may have emitted the lethal gas, potentially becoming trapped within the vehicle’s air conditioning system.
Following inquest and autopsy procedures, the bodies were released to the families. The incident serves as a tragic reminder of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning from improperly ventilated generators.
