**New Delhi, India** – Recent rainfall across North India, triggered by a Western Disturbance, has significantly improved air quality in Delhi and surrounding areas, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Similar improvements are reported in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. While Delhi experienced clear skies on Christmas Day (December 25th), light rain or drizzle is forecast from December 26th, with heavier showers possible on December 27th and 28th. Temperatures are expected to hover around a high of 21°C and a low of 8°C during this period. The IMD predicts a return to clear skies by December 29th.

The Western Disturbance continues to impact the region, with light to moderate rain and snowfall expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next 24 hours. Similar conditions are predicted for Jammu and Kashmir, with scattered showers across several other states including Uttar Pradesh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu, parts of Telangana, South Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain is also anticipated in Kerala and coastal Karnataka. The IMD notes a cyclonic circulation over South Punjab and adjoining areas contributing to the weather patterns. A new Western Disturbance is expected to move towards the Western Himalayan region and Northwest India plains from December 27th.
