**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh –** Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that preparations are well underway for the Maha Kumbh 2025, set to take place in Prayagraj from January 13th to February 26th. The event, described by Adityanath as not just a religious festival but also a chance to showcase Prayagraj’s hospitality, is undergoing a massive infrastructure upgrade.

Over 20,000 saints and institutions have already been allocated land, including all 13 Akharas. The government aims to complete land allocation for all remaining registrants by January 5th. A significant improvement in infrastructure is underway, including:

* **Increased Pontoon Bridges:** The number of pontoon bridges has been increased from 22 to 30, with 20 already completed. All 30 are expected to be finished by December 30th.
* **Improved Pathways:** Over 330 kilometers of checkered plates have been laid out of a planned 651 kilometers, and signage installation is progressing rapidly.
* **Enhanced Water Management:** The Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam is ensuring a clean and uninterrupted flow of the Ganga, aided by functional STPs, bioremediation, and geo-tube techniques. The Irrigation Department is maintaining sufficient water levels at the confluence.
* **Ample Electricity:** The Power Corporation is constructing 85 substations (77 completed), alongside numerous smaller substations and extensive power lines, with nearly 48,000 LED streetlights installed.
* **New Riverfront and Ghats:** Prayagraj will boast a new riverfront along the Ganga, including newly constructed concrete ghats, with the Arail ghat expected to be completed by December 30th.
* **Healthcare Enhancements:** A 100-bed temporary hospital and multiple 25-bed facilities are being set up, along with first aid stations throughout the fairgrounds.
* **Improved Accessibility:** Newly developed corridors, including the Akshay Vat Corridor, Bade Hanuman Ji Corridor, and others, are providing improved access to key pilgrimage sites. Beautification and facade lighting of significant temples have also been completed.
* **Tent City:** A Tent City capable of housing 20,000 devotees, plus additional VIP tents, is under construction.
* **Disaster Response:** For the first time, trained ‘Apda Mitras’ will work alongside NDRF and SDRF teams to assist devotees.

Chief Minister Adityanath urged the people of Prayagraj to collaborate in making the Maha Kumbh a resounding success, elevating the city’s global reputation. He assured that the government is committed to providing all necessary resources to ensure a smooth and successful event.
