JAIPUR, Rajasthan – December 24, 2024 – Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed state officials to expedite infrastructure development projects ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 state budget. In a Monday review meeting, Mr. Sharma emphasized the need for time-bound action plans, ensuring accountability and transparency.

Key projects highlighted include improving water and power supply, upgrading stone clusters, developing industrial areas, and installing wastewater treatment plants. The Chief Minister instructed all 32 state government departments to regularly submit progress reports. To accelerate timelines, the Public Works Department was directed to issue tenders for similar projects simultaneously.

The Brahmani river dam project, crucial for water security in southern and western Rajasthan, is also slated for expedited completion. Additionally, a summer contingency plan is being formulated to address drinking water needs during the next summer season.

The state assembly’s budget session is expected to commence at the end of January, with the budget presentation in early February. This information was confirmed following a recent meeting between Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani and Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde.
