Tue Dec 24 12:20:00 UTC 2024: ## American Airlines Scales Back International Flights Due to Boeing 787 Delays

**Fort Worth, TX –** American Airlines (AAL) announced today it will be adjusting its international flight schedule for Spring 2025 due to ongoing delays in the delivery of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The airline cited slower-than-expected fulfillment of its orders from Boeing (BA) as the reason for the changes.

While American Airlines assures customers that no routes will be canceled, some new routes will be delayed and existing service reduced. Specifically:

* Flights between Chicago O’Hare and Paris Charles de Gaulle, initially planned for April, will now launch in May.
* Service between Miami International and Paris Charles de Gaulle will be temporarily suspended starting in May.
* Daily flights between Miami International and Buenos Aires’ Ministro Pistarini International Airport will be reduced from three to two, beginning in April.

American Airlines is proactively contacting affected passengers to offer alternative travel arrangements. The airline emphasized its commitment to mitigating the impact of the Boeing delays while maintaining a comprehensive global network.

The delays affect American’s plans to increase international capacity. The airline, one of Boeing’s largest 787 customers with 25 unfilled orders, had hoped to leverage the wide-body aircraft for long-haul international routes. This adjustment comes despite a cautious industry-wide approach to adding capacity in the face of reduced fares.

Boeing has yet to comment on the delivery delays. American Airlines’ decision highlights the ripple effect of supply chain disruptions within the airline industry.
